At the beginning of the year, we welcomed John Iaffaldano as the new pastor of Faith Baptist Church here in Knoxville, Iowa. While John and his wife Kristen have spent the last few years near Atlanta, Georgia, they have midwestern roots and are eager to make Iowa their new home.
Pastor John Iaffaldano has a shepherd’s heart for people who have experienced the pain of life. Having accepted Christ as Savior in June of 1982, Pastor John began looking for ways to serve the Lord. After graduating from Northwestern College and starting a family with three daughters, his first wife passed away at the age of 32 in 1999.
While raising his daughters and taking classes at Central Baptist Theological Seminary on the weekends, he served as a deacon and youth leader at a church in northern Minnesota. When the kids were grown he went on to pastor a small church in northern Wisconsin part-time while working full-time as a salesman.
He met his wife Kristen during this time and together they are learning to grow and mature in the Lord. Pastor John brings the Word of God to bear on the issues of life.
John has said, “A pastor’s main focus needs to be explaining God’s Word to God’s people.” Both Pastor John and his wife Kristen have earned degrees in Biblical Counseling and they stand ready and prepared to reach out to those in need of true biblical answers for the issues of life.
